Hilton has opened Canopy Bangkok Sukhumvit in Bangkok’s Asoke neighbourhood, bringing its Canopy lifestyle hotel brand to South East Asia for the first time. The 174-room property adds to the group’s lifestyle portfolio in Asia Pacific, combining accommodation with four restaurants and bars, local retail collaborations and organised city experiences.
The hotel is on Sukhumvit Soi 12, a six-minute walk from the Asoke BTS Skytrain and Sukhumvit MRT stations, according to Hilton. Terminal 21 and Times Square Shopping Centre are also within walking distance, giving the property access to the district’s shopping, dining and business areas.
Alexandra Murray, Hilton’s area vice president and regional head of South East Asia, said the opening broadened the company’s regional lifestyle offering through its combination of design, dining and locally organised experiences. For hotel industry readers, the property sets out how Canopy is entering the region: with neighbourhood references extending across its rooms, public spaces, food and beverage operations and guest activities.
Room mix includes group accommodation options
Accommodation includes king and twin rooms, accessible rooms, urban-view and courtyard categories, corner rooms and three suites. The suites comprise one King Suk Jai Suite and two King Asoke Suites.
The hotel also has nine pairs of interconnecting rooms arranged around shared entrance areas, alongside seven pairs of connecting rooms linked by internal doors. Hilton said these configurations serve families, friends and small groups travelling together.
Guest-room interiors reference Thai family homes formerly found along Sukhumvit Soi 12, with industrial details reflecting the nearby Klong Toey port district. Blue Paa Khram fabric canopies above the beds draw on Thai handwoven textiles, while facilities elsewhere include a rooftop swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness centre.
Four venues shape the food and beverage offer
Cante, the hotel’s Spanish grill and taberna, serves wood-fired dishes and sharing plates influenced by Barcelona, Valencia and Andalusia. SoolHaus is a Korean-inspired cocktail bar aimed at late-night customers.
The all-day café, Luso, offers Bangkok-roasted coffee and Thai-sourced teas from independent artisan producers. Glint completes the dining and bar portfolio at the rooftop pool, with cocktails and cabanas.
Interior design studio AvroKO worked on selected public spaces, including the lobby, Luso and Cante; the guest rooms and SoolHaus were designed separately. Hilton said the public interiors reference Asoke’s industrial history and the nearby Sri Krung Sound Film Studio, with a bronze façade taking inspiration from vintage film cameras.
Local partnerships and opening terms
Bangkok lifestyle brand LalaLove is supplying limited-edition opening merchandise and has a dedicated retail showcase inside the hotel. Hilton described the collaboration as the first in a continuing programme involving the city’s independent makers and artisans.
A dedicated City Curator oversees activities including boat trips along Klong Saen Saeb, neighbourhood walks and a postcard-making experience. Alex Coleman, vice president and global brand leader for Canopy Hotels, said the Bangkok property reflected the brand’s emphasis on connecting design, dining and guest experiences to each destination.
Ishmit Bajaj, managing director of LLAN Asset, said the project had transformed an empty site into a hotel in partnership with Hilton. He described the South East Asian debut as an experience-led product shaped around Asoke’s identity.
Nightly room-only rates start at THB 5,700++, with flexible booking options allowing free changes or cancellations up to 24 hours before arrival. The hotel participates in Hilton Honors and is launching an opening promotion for qualifying minimum two-night stays, offering 10,000 bonus points, THB 500 in dining credit and a limited-edition Canopy x LalaLove pouch.
