Hilton opens 170-room Conrad Nagoya with Mitsubishi Estate

Conrad makes its Nagoya debut with a hotel above Sakae Station, adding restaurants, wellness and event facilities to Hilton’s luxury portfolio in Japan.

Online Franchise Chronicle · 7/31/2026

Hilton announced the opening of the 170-room Conrad Nagoya on 31 July 2026 in partnership with property owner Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd., marking the luxury brand’s arrival in the capital of Aichi prefecture in Central Japan. The hotel occupies the upper floors of The Landmark Nagoya Sakae and has a direct connection to Sakae Station.

The opening adds accommodation, six restaurants and bars, wellness facilities and meeting space to Hilton’s offering in Nagoya’s business and shopping district. It also extends the group’s presence in a city where Hilton Nagoya opened in 1989, with further Conrad properties planned for Yokohama and Kobe.

Rooms, dining and event facilities

According to Hilton, The Landmark Nagoya Sakae is the tallest skyscraper in the Sakae district. The company highlighted access to Nagoya Castle and Atsuta Shrine, as well as the hotel’s position as a base for trips to Ise and Takayama.

The room inventory includes 29 suites, with accommodation spanning more than 50 square metres and featuring floor-to-ceiling windows. On the 40th floor, the Conrad Suite covers 213 square metres, while metal artworks throughout the guest rooms draw on the movement and activity of the surrounding district.

Restaurants and bars are distributed across the 31st and 40th floors, with menus combining Japanese and international cooking, Hilton said. The line-up includes SUNDROP, a lobby lounge serving afternoon tea, cocktails and food; Italian restaurant CASA OLIVA, with more than 100 Italian wine labels; and SONGBIRD, serving coffee, pastries and seasonal sweets.

On the 40th floor, SORYU serves sushi kaiseki and SOEN offers teppan kaiseki. Rooftop bar HOUSE OF MON completes the dining and drinks offering.

For event operators, the hotel provides venues on the 10th and 11th floors, supported by audiovisual equipment and a dedicated events team. The Grand Ballroom has 342 square metres of adaptable space beneath an 8-metre-high ceiling, while the Akari meeting area can be divided into four rooms for corporate meetings, social functions and celebrations.

Wellness and local experiences

Conrad Spa has four treatment rooms, alongside an indoor swimming pool and sauna facilities. A 24-hour fitness centre forms part of the hotel’s wellness provision.

The property also participates in Conrad 1/3/5, the brand’s programme of destination activities organised into 1-hour, 3-hour and 5-hour experiences. Nagoya options include cocktail-making, a traditional tea ceremony, craft beer discovery and a miso-making workshop.

Hilton said guests can also gain access to learn about Arimatsu Shibori, the Japanese tie-dyeing craft with a 400-year-old heritage. The activities put local food and craftsmanship alongside the hotel’s accommodation and leisure facilities.

Conrad’s Japanese expansion

Hilton described Conrad as the largest brand in its luxury portfolio, with 51 hotels across five continents. Dino Michael, senior vice president and category head, Hilton Luxury Brands, said Nagoya’s craftsmanship and culinary culture reflected the brand’s emphasis on connecting its properties with their destinations.

Joseph Khairallah, Hilton’s area vice president and head of Japan, Korea and Micronesia, linked the opening to the company’s longstanding presence in Nagoya. Mitsubishi Estate president and chief executive officer Atsushi Nakajima described the hotel as central to the wider development’s intended role as a place for cultural exchange.

Conrad Yokohama and Conrad Kobe are among Hilton’s future openings in Japan, although the announcement gave no opening dates. Conrad Nagoya is now accepting reservations through its website and the Hilton Honors mobile app.
