Hilton reaches 100 hotels in Türkiye with Istanbul Airport opening

The 485-room Hilton Istanbul Airport is managed by Hilton and introduces its OXBO dining brand to Türkiye as part of the company’s 2026 opening programme.

Online Franchise Chronicle · 8/12/2026

Hilton opened the 485-room Hilton Istanbul Airport on 12 August 2026, taking its Turkish portfolio to 100 hotels. The company said the property, part of Hilton Hotels & Resorts, is Türkiye’s first internationally branded hotel immediately beside airport grounds.

The hotel is owned by TAYA Real Estate Investment and Management Co. Inc. – Istanbul Airport Hotel Operations and managed by Hilton. Its opening adds accommodation, meeting facilities and dining venues serving business, leisure and transit travellers, while bringing Hilton’s OXBO food and drink brand to the country.

Airport access and meeting capacity

According to Hilton, the property is a short walk from the airport terminal, with a metro station opposite providing access to central Istanbul and landmarks including Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. Accommodation includes rooms and suites with runway views, while an executive lounge overlooks the runway and gates.

The events offering comprises eight meeting rooms and a ballroom with seating for 250 guests. Alongside terminal access, these facilities form part of the hotel’s provision for business guests rather than solely travellers seeking an overnight stop.

General manager Tolga Aytan described the property as Türkiye’s first Hilton airport hotel. He said it was designed for travellers prioritising time and comfort, with access to the terminal central to its offering.

OXBO enters Türkiye

OXBO operates across three distinct outlets at the hotel: a restaurant, a café and a 24-hour bar. Hilton said the menus use locally sourced ingredients and incorporate local flavours, making the airport opening the dining brand’s entry into Türkiye.

The interiors draw on Istanbul’s historic neighbourhoods, modern skyline and the colours of the Marmara Sea, according to the company. Materials include natural stone, metallic finishes and fabrics intended to connect the building’s design with its surroundings.

Wellness facilities include a spa, indoor pool, sauna and Turkish bath, with the latter facilities operating during scheduled hours. Guests can access the fitness centre 24/7 using room key cards, and the wellness area has three treatment rooms, with two for individual appointments and one for couples.

Part of a wider Turkish opening programme

David Kelly, Hilton’s senior vice president for Continental Europe, said the company had operated in Türkiye for over 70 years. He described its growth in the country as running at record rates, with more openings this year than in any previous year.

Hilton Istanbul Airport is among 14 openings the company lists for Türkiye in 2026. The programme also includes Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, Hilton’s first cave hotel in Cappadocia and Spark by Hilton’s debut in the country, with Porto Chiara, Curio Collection by Hilton still to open.
