The 85-room Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa will operate year-round, combining private-pool accommodation with dining, wellness and conference facilities.

Hilton has opened Hilton Chania Old Town Resort & Spa in Chania, Greece, marking the return of its flagship Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand to the country. Announced in July 2026, the waterfront property on Crete has 85 rooms and suites and will welcome guests throughout the year.

The opening adds to a Greek portfolio that now includes more than 50 operating hotels across Hilton’s brands, according to David Kelly, the company’s senior vice president, Continental Europe. The new resort combines accommodation for business and leisure travellers with restaurants, wellness facilities and spaces for conferences and private events.

According to Hilton, the property is five minutes’ walk from the entrance to Chania’s Old Town and a 20-minute drive from the airport. Every room has a private balcony and heated pool, with in-room saunas available in some accommodation.

Year-round operations underpin investment

Lambros Tsiledakis, vice president of development and operations at Tsiledakis Group, described the opening as a long-term strategic investment. He said the project combines international partnerships with an ambition to support Chania’s local economy while retaining the character of the destination.

“We are creating a destination that operates 365 days a year,” Tsiledakis said. Conference infrastructure and adaptable event spaces form part of that operating model, with the hotel able to accommodate corporate meetings, weddings, retreats and other gatherings across the seasons, according to Hilton.

Little Galaxy, an open-air botanical garden on the rooftop, provides a further venue for receptions and smaller events, with capacity for up to 120 guests. Planted with Cretan herbs, it overlooks the water and the Old Town.

Fauchon makes Greek debut

The resort also introduces Fauchon Café Pâtisserie to Greece, Hilton said. Located in the lobby, the café has entrances from both the street and the hotel, serving pastries, desserts, gourmet sandwiches and the French brand’s tea offering.

Poème de la Canée occupies two levels and is intended to serve hotel guests, other visitors and local residents from morning until late evening. Its offer includes Mediterranean food, cocktails and live music.

On the rooftop, Céleste combines an all-day food and drinks menu with a heated infinity pool overlooking the Aegean Sea. The C Bar adds a sea-facing lounge serving aged spirits and cigars from Cuba and the Dominican Republic.

Wellness facilities and reservations

The L’Occitane en Provence Spa has four treatment rooms for face and body therapies, alongside a hammam, saunas, steam baths and relaxation spaces. Its retail boutique stocks the brand’s skincare, body care and fragrance products.

Other wellness facilities include an indoor heated pool, an outdoor heated pool with sea views and a fitness centre offering personalised training programmes. Hilton positions these facilities alongside the dining and events offer as part of the resort’s year-round proposition.

Reservations are now available through Hilton’s website, and the property participates in Hilton Honors. Members booking through eligible direct channels can access benefits including member discounts, free standard Wi-Fi and the option to combine Points and money when paying for a stay.
