Hilton has highlighted properties across New England in an autumn travel guide, pairing hotels in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Maine with seasonal sightseeing. Published in August 2026, the company’s destination feature directs travellers towards historic cities, rural villages and coastal locations for autumn and Halloween breaks.
The guide features Hilton Boston Park Plaza, Canopy Boston Downtown, Graduate by Hilton Providence, Graduate by Hilton Storrs and Canopy Portland Waterfront. It presents options beyond Salem, linking accommodation with activities ranging from ghost tours and independent bookshops to orchard visits and drives through autumn foliage.
For hotel operators, the feature illustrates how Hilton is presenting these properties through their surrounding destinations and, in some cases, their architecture and design. The recommendations connect city hotels with historical and literary attractions, while positioning stays in Connecticut and Maine around village visits and coastal exploration.
Boston and Providence provide historic settings
Hilton places Boston at the start of its suggested regional journey, pointing to colonial-era burial grounds, ghost tours and local legends. Beacon Hill’s gas-lit streets, independent bookshops and walking tours also feature among the company’s recommendations.
Hilton Boston Park Plaza opened nearly 100 years ago, according to the company, making the hotel’s own history part of its presentation. The guide also highlights Canopy Boston Downtown for its combination of historic architecture and contemporary design, alongside access to the city’s historic neighbourhoods.
In Providence, Hilton focuses on literary heritage, university surroundings and neighbourhoods containing Victorian homes. It recommends independent bookshops, landmarks associated with American writers, antique shops and live music as part of an autumn visit.
Graduate by Hilton Providence is housed in a historic building that Hilton describes as widely recognised within the city. The company connects the hotel’s design with Providence’s academic character, placing the property alongside the destination’s cultural attractions.
Connecticut pairs village visits with Graduate stays
The Connecticut section centres on smaller communities and countryside excursions, with Graduate by Hilton Storrs presented as a base between outings. Hilton recommends beginning in Mystic, where visitors can explore historic vessels, waterfront paths and boutiques.
Further inland, the guide points to the Connecticut Quiet Corner for rural roads, covered bridges, orchards and woodland. Woodstock and Putnam feature for antiques, cafés and farmers’ markets selling pumpkins, apples and handmade products.
Portland links Canopy with maritime heritage
In Maine, Hilton highlights Portland’s maritime history, Old Port district and nearby lighthouses. Its suggested activities include harbour walks, gallery visits, waterfront seafood dining and excursions along the coast.
The company says Canopy Portland Waterfront draws design inspiration from the city’s seafaring heritage. The property rounds out the guide’s accommodation recommendations as a base for exploring Portland and taking coastal drives during the autumn season.
