Tempo by Hilton signs German debut at MUNICH ARENA for 2029

The 199-room hotel will open alongside MUNICH ARENA under a management agreement with Munich Airport subsidiary Allresto, extending Tempo by Hilton’s European presence.

Hilton has signed an agreement for its first Tempo by Hilton hotel in Germany, with a 199-room property scheduled to open at the MUNICH ARENA campus in 2029. Tempo by Hilton Munich Airport Arena is due to launch alongside the concert venue, becoming one of the lifestyle brand’s first European hotels, according to the company.

The signing extends a brand that Hilton said has 86 properties operating or in its pipeline, with European agreements already announced for Belfast City Centre, Lisbon Parque das Nações and Reykjavik. The Munich project combines an airport location with accommodation on a live entertainment campus.

Management agreement links Hilton and airport subsidiary

The hotel is being developed under a management agreement with Allresto Munich Airport Hotel and Restaurants GmbH, a subsidiary of Munich Airport. Allresto has leased the property from SWMUNICH Accomodation GmbH, which is part of the MUNICH ARENA group.

For hotel operators and investors, the agreement establishes the contractual structure behind Tempo’s German entry: a Hilton management arrangement with an airport-owned business leasing the hotel from the arena group. Andreas Reichert, Allresto’s managing director, said the project continued its existing relationship with Hilton and would contribute to growth around MUNICH ARENA.

Airport traffic and concert accommodation

Thorsten Faasch, Hilton’s managing director, development, DACH, said Germany had been an important market for the company for more than 50 years. He highlighted the planned hotel’s proximity to both the airport and the new concert venue as central to its location.

Munich Airport handled more than 43 million passengers in 2025, according to the release, and serves domestic and international flights. Hilton also noted that Munich is home to seven DAX-listed corporations.

Lorenz Schmid, managing partner of MUNICH ARENA, said accommodation on the campus was part of the venue’s planning for live entertainment. He described the hotel as a place for fans, artists and touring crews to stay on site after concerts.

Rooms, fitness facilities and food service planned

Guest rooms will include a dedicated preparation area with a vanity mirror, custom desk and open wardrobe. The planned gym will provide cardio equipment, a weights section and a recovery area, reflecting the brand’s focus on fitness and wellbeing.

Food and beverage facilities will comprise a ground-floor café and a rooftop bar serving craft cocktails and small plates. The property will also participate in Hilton Honors, giving eligible members access to direct-booking benefits and digital services.

Those services include app-based check-in, room selection and access through Digital Key, according to Hilton. The next scheduled milestone is the hotel’s opening in 2029, coordinated with the launch of MUNICH ARENA.
