Hilton launches Honors rewards on Explora Journeys sailings

The partnership brings points earning, redemptions and status benefits to ocean travel booked through Hilton, including the first sailings of EXPLORA III this July.

Online Franchise Chronicle · 7/9/2026

Hilton has activated its loyalty partnership with Explora Journeys, allowing Hilton Honors members to earn and redeem points on ocean itineraries booked through Hilton from 9 July 2026. The benefits apply across Explora Journeys’ itineraries, including routes in the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Caribbean.

The launch extends Hilton’s rewards programme beyond hotel stays, linking eligible sailings to elite-status qualification as well as points and member discounts. For hotel operators and industry readers, the development broadens the travel products available through Hilton’s direct booking channels while retaining the programme’s tier-based approach to guest recognition.

Fare discounts and status-linked benefits

Members booking through Hilton can earn 10 base points for every U.S. dollar spent on fares and receive a 5 percent discount on all Explora Journeys fares, the company said. They can also redeem points for sailings, with bonus points and additional benefits determined by their membership tier.

Gold members receive access to a complimentary welcome cocktail party with the ship’s leadership, while Diamond members receive additional Journey Experience Credits. Diamond Reserve members receive the full package of benefits, including private port transfers and a behind-the-scenes bridge tour, subject to availability.

All eligible stays contribute towards Hilton Honors elite status, according to Hilton. Members booking through Hilton channels also have access to expedited assistance through a dedicated Explora Journeys customer service line.

A broader role for Hilton Honors

The exclusive partnership was announced in December 2025 and previewed as part of the introduction of Hilton Honors Adventures. That offering brings together travel partners providing experiences beyond traditional hotel accommodation.

Mark Weinstein, Hilton’s chief marketing officer and head of luxury brands, said the arrangement was intended to give members additional ways to use and earn points, alongside new perks. He also described an opportunity to welcome Explora guests into Hilton hotels and resorts, citing Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, NoMad and LXR within its portfolio of 28 brands.

Anna Nash, president of Explora Journeys, said the latest phase of the partnership centred on hospitality and individual guest recognition. Hilton positioned the launch alongside recent programme changes that it said made elite status more attainable and rewarding.

EXPLORA III joins the available itineraries

The rewards offering includes the first sailings of EXPLORA III, Explora Journeys’ third ship, which is due to debut this July. Members can use the partnership across all of the brand’s itineraries when booking through Hilton’s direct channels.

Alongside Mediterranean routes, the available destinations include Northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland and North America’s East Coast. Caribbean and Central American itineraries also form part of the offering, including journeys featuring the Panama Canal.
