Hilton’s Canopy brand has opened its first Utah hotel in Park City in September 2026, adding a 180-room property near Deer Valley Resort’s East Village expansion. Developed by Extell Development Company, Canopy Deer Valley also marks the lifestyle brand’s entry into ski resorts, according to Hilton.

The hotel is among the first properties to open as part of the East Village expansion and sits steps from the Jordanelle Express Gondola. It combines mountain access with four dining concepts intended to serve both overnight guests and local residents, bringing a food-and-beverage offer spanning morning to evening to the developing destination.

Hilton said nightly room rates start at $200. The property is approximately 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport and participates in the Hilton Honors loyalty programme.

Four dining concepts target guests and residents

Executive chef Scott Rackliff leads the hotel’s culinary operation, having previously worked at Daniel Humm’s Eleven Madison Park and Daniel Boulud’s Dinex Group in New York City. Hilton said the menus focus on comfort food, with ingredients sourced where possible from regional producers such as PaMaw’s Organic Farm and Wasatch Meats.

Tavolona, the hotel’s main Italian trattoria, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Next door, the Fornetto lounge offers antipasti, cicchetti and pizza alongside local beers and cocktails.

Mountain Provisions combines a café with takeaway food and provisions, including coffee from Park City Coffee Roasters. Rooftop lounge Alpine Attic serves comfort food and features Utah drinks suppliers including High West Distillery and Alpine Distilling, alongside seasonal programming.

Mountain setting shapes rooms and public spaces

DLR Group | BraytonHughes designed the interiors around references to Park City’s mining past and Deer Valley’s landscape. Industrial materials and wood finishes feature inside, while the exterior uses locally sourced stone and thermally modified wood.

Guest rooms incorporate custom furnishings, natural materials and storage for outdoor equipment. Headboards take cues from performance outdoor gear, rugs reference ski tracks, and large windows offer views of Deer Valley Resort and the Jordanelle Reservoir.

General manager Andrew Carey said the hotel’s approach extended beyond its rooms and restaurants to partnerships with local artisans and businesses. Public areas include lobby coffee and fireplace gathering spaces, supporting the property’s aim of welcoming visitors during both ski season and summer.

Canopy enters a growing resort village

Alexandra Coleman, vice president and global brand leader for Canopy Hotels, described the opening as part of the brand’s move into new markets. “Canopy Deer Valley marks our Utah and ski resort debut,” she said.

Guests booking directly through Hilton’s preferred channels can access Hilton Honors benefits including member discounts, free standard Wi-Fi and payment using a combination of Points and money. The programme’s app also supports check-in, room selection and Digital Key access.

The hotel opens while Deer Valley East Village continues to develop. According to Hilton, the new base village will feature expanded ski terrain, restaurants, shops, recreation, entertainment and year-round programming.
