Hilton converts Riviera Maya luxury resorts to all-inclusive

Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya have adopted all-inclusive formats, with different age policies and guest programmes to follow.

Online Franchise Chronicle · 10/1/2026

Hilton has converted Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya on Mexico’s Caribbean coast to all-inclusive resorts, effective October 1, 2026. The changes extend its all-inclusive portfolio through existing luxury properties, with separate approaches to adult and multi-generational stays.

From January 10, 2027, Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will accept only registered guests aged 18 and older. Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya will continue to serve all generations, while introducing Ceiba Club as a dedicated section for registered guests aged 18 and older.

For operators, the announcement sets out different service and access models within the same category: a wholly adults-only Waldorf Astoria property and an adults-only section within a broader Conrad resort. Both formats build on services and facilities already available at the properties, Hilton said.

Hilton sets out its luxury all-inclusive approach

Hilton attributed its move to changing expectations among affluent travellers, who it said increasingly want personalised service, dining, wellness and destination experiences without repeated purchasing decisions during their stay. The company positioned the conversions as an extension of its luxury brands into that model.

Sylvia Scholey, Hilton’s vice president and global head All-Inclusive and Resorts, said the properties would combine the convenience of an all-inclusive stay with individual service and opportunities to explore local culture. Hilton is positioning Waldorf Astoria around privacy and a more intimate oceanfront stay, while Conrad will emphasise culinary variety and activities across generations.

Waldorf Astoria centres service on personal concierge support

At Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya, a dedicated personal concierge will help organise dining reservations, wellness appointments, transport, excursions and celebrations before and during each visit. Planned activities include oceanfront yoga, Mayan breathwork, artisan-led workshops, agave tastings and live music.

Dining will draw on Mexican ingredients and traditions across the resort’s venues. Offerings include live-fire cooking, tableside carving and salt tastings at Malpeque; maize-focused dining and Mexican desserts at Chaya; and agave activities at JA’O.

The resort’s inclusions will extend to 24-hour in-room dining and a personalised minibar replenished daily. Eligible direct bookings will also receive private return transfers from Cancun International Airport.

Conrad retains family offering alongside Ceiba Club

Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya’s dining offer will span Mediterranean food at Maratea, Japanese cuisine at Ukai and teppanyaki at Kengai. Ceiba Club guests will have access to Autor, Ceiba Lounge and Carbon Restaurant, Pool & Beach; Hilton described Autor as a Michelin-recognised restaurant serving contemporary Mexican cuisine.

The wider resort will organise activities around wellness, culture, creativity, food and social gatherings. Its included MYTHOS World kids’ club will offer age-specific programming based on nature and Mayan storytelling, alongside an Explorer Kit and an evening Stargazer activity.

Conrad’s package will include 24-hour in-room dining, refreshed minibar selections and concierge support. Private return transfers from Cancun and Tulum international airports will be available for eligible direct bookings.

At both resorts, eligible transient stays of four consecutive nights or longer may include one selected resort activity or destination excursion per stay. Conrad’s potential options include a cenote visit at Vesica, a family waterpark visit at Xel-Há or a spa inclusion; Waldorf Astoria’s options will depend on the resort’s offerings.

Hilton said existing Conrad reservations would retain their confirmed booking plans and terms. Waldorf Astoria will also honour existing terms, except for reservations involving guests under 18 arriving on or after January 10, 2027; the resort will assist those guests in finding alternative accommodation.
